West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today accused the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre of trying to topple duly elected governments in states ruled by the Opposition by "using central agencies and money power".
Addressing a virtual rally on "Martyrs' Day" from her Kalighat residence, Mamata said West Bengal would continue to be run by its "own people and not people from Gujarat." She called the BJP the "most destructive party the country has ever seen".
Brushing aside allegations on misappropriation of cash relief meant for Cyclone Amphan victims, she claimed the next "Martyrs' Day" rally after the TMC's third straight victory in the Assembly elections would see a record turnout. —TNS
