Ahead of the all-party meeting by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to discuss the Covid-19 situation, politics raged on in the national capital, which has been seeing a spurt in the number of cases over past few weeks.

The BJP held demonstrations and slammed the Delhi Chief Minister for ban on community celebrations of "Chhath puja" in public places, accusing him of "hurting sentiments of poorvanchalis" and "doing nothing except promoting himself by giving advertisements", while Home Minister Amit Shah did all the work.

"One wonders what does Kejriwal do except giving advertisements to make himself look tolerable, if everything has to be done by the Union Home Ministry?" said BJP's IT cell incharge Amit Malviya. Its northeast Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari went a step ahead, saying it is "strange to see how treacherous the Delhi CM can be. You (Kejriwal) will not allow "Chhath" under the guise of social distancing and do false drama of seeking guidelines from the Centre. Tell us after following which guidelines you have taken the permission to serve liquor 24 hours in the city," he said re-tweeting message posted by his office. Tiwari re-tweeted another post, which said, "Corona does not spread if you worship in a public place with your entire Cabinet. If 'poorvanchalis' worship 'Chhath', corona will spread."
