According to Italian coffee company Illy, you need 7 to 8 grams of coffee grounds per 6.7 ounces of water for the perfect French-pressed coffee. So, scoop those grounds into your French press, and then pour hot water — not boiling — into the pot and gently stir.
Insert the plunger into the pot, stopping just above the waterline. Let stand for three to four minutes before pressing the plunger down slowly, using steady pressure. Pour and enjoy with a healthy (or unhealthy) creamer.
